Samsung is making some strides with its slider DVB-H Mobile TV Phone. It features a 2.6-inch QVGA TFT screen with 262K colors, a 3 mp cam with power LED, a music player with library, an FM tuner, and Bang & Olufsen ICEPower tech for sound. With up to 5 hours of play, there is also an electronic service guide with TV channels and PIP, and Time-Shifting in case you are interrupted by a call. Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Announcements, Features, Movies, PC / Laptop, Software, Video Games,
Hey, remember that HP HDX Dragon PC that we unboxed a few months ago? Well, HP has gone and upgraded the specs on that puppy, and they want us to give one of them to you guys. Not just the computer, but a few Blu-ray movies, a few PC games, and a bunch of software too. All in all, if you were to purchase everything we are giving away on your own, you’d end up spending somewhere around $5,196.00. Yeah, I said it. Go ahead and read that again.
No, here is the real kicker. Now only are we here at Gear Live giving away one of these 1080p beasts, but thirty other sites are also going to be giving away the exact same package, including our friends over at ArsTechnica, Lockergnome, JKOnTheRun, and Jake Ludington’s MediaBlab. That means you have 31 chances to win. Seriously. That’s why we are calling it 31 Days of the Dragon.
Now, each site is going to set their own criteria for how they are going to run things, and we will be announcing what we will be doing soon. Our giveaway date for the HDX Dragon is June 7, 2008. You’d better keep it locked here, peeps. Oh, and anyone in the world is eligible to win.
Hit the break for the full scoop on everything we are giving away, which other sites are also giving these away, and an unboxing video of the HDX Dragon.

Einmnal DVD-D Disposable Movies
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Home Entertainment, Misc. Tech, Movies,
Welcome to the world of expiring movies. Einmal’s DVD-Ds are only good for a 48 hour period and then the data is deleted. A few years ago, Flexplay had the same idea and used to offer titles via Amazon, although it never really caught on. If you check on Amazon’s site, you will find a “not available” and an offer from Unbox for a $2.99 rental or $9.99 price.
The discs are already in Italy, France and Scandinavia, but we are thinking with a price tag of €3.99 ($6.44,) you can head to your nearest retailer and check out the discount bin. And if you want to be really green about it, we still adore our Netflix.

MPAA Sues Pullmylink
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Editorial, Home Entertainment, Hot Deals, Internet, Movies,
The Motion Picture Association of America is suing Pullmylink and says that the site promotes and makes a profit from media that infringes on copyrights. This is the seventh time that the MPAA has done such an action since last year. They have not yet gone after sites such as YouTube. We are thinking that they look at this as free advertising as opposed to serious pirating, which they say has cost them billions of dollars of loss.
Pullmylink claims it has 12,000 visitors a day and more than 39,000 pages of free content. Their Superpass offers 100+ ad-free radio stations, 10 music downloads a month, RealPlayerPlus, and live feeds, such as the one for Big Brother. With their 14 day free trial, you had better hurry, just in case.
